Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute at Columbia University

The Gogos lab, a member of the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute at Columbia University in the City of New York  (https://zuckermaninstitute.columbia.edu/), is seeking to hire two (2) talented postdoctoral research scientists.

In the Gogos lab, we explore the molecular, cellular, synaptic and circuit basis of psychiatric disorders, with emphasis on schizophrenia, taking advantage of model systems (mouse models, human cell lines) founded upon solid human genetics findings. Additionally, we work to translate fundamental discoveries to better preventive and therapeutic approaches. We are looking for outstanding scientists who have a strong background in a neuroscience-related discipline to join our laboratory as part of ongoing projects, including collaborative projects with other labs at the Zuckerman Institute.

In addition to a Ph.D., applicants with expertise in areas ranging from genome engineering, behavioral /pharmacological experimentation, in vivo electrophysiology and imaging, to neural circuit manipulation are encouraged to apply.  Strong communication and critical thinking skills, as well as a dedication to teamwork and collaboration, are qualities sought after.

If you are interested in joining our lab, please send your CV with a brief description of your current research, as well as 2-3 contacts for references, to [email protected].
